Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
You have the right to receive a GFE explaining how much your service or item will cost. Under the law, pursuant to the No Surprise Act, Best Health Option is required to inform you of the cost of self-pay services. You have the right to receive a GFE for the total expected cost of services and items. You can ask your Health Care Provider (HCP) or any provider for a GFE before you schedule your service.
If you receive a bill or cash pay for services/items that is $400 or more than your GFE, you can dispute your bill. Make sure you save a copy or your requested GFE or your services confirmation sent by Best Health Option. We encourage you to ask questions anytime regarding your treatment or plan of care, or the information provided to you in the GFE
When choosing your services online the charge for the service will be generated and sent to you via email or text that also confirms your appointment. If you book your appointment via phone, a GFE will be sent to you in the form of a service charge. Payment is required at time of service at which time price is confirmed before payment is completed. A list of services can be provided prior to service as well as a sliding scale purchase list of non service items.
You have a right to initiate a dispute resolution process if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your GFE ($400 or more beyond estimated) charges.
You are encouraged to speak with any provider at any time with any questions you may have regarding your treatment plan or the information provided to you with the GFE.
